The Energy that Animates Us

Everything that exists has been formed by energies that have combined and brought the objective world into physical matter. This is true for the tree, the house, the Earth, and our bodies. Behind each creation are energies that have worked and coalesced to build a form. If we contemplate where these energies originate, we then become aware of the ability to access them to maximize their presence in our lives.
The tallest tree in the forest is a formidable presence, having stood there for perhaps a hundred years. But if you go back in time to the moment that it started growing, you will begin to more clearly see the energies at play. There was a seed that contained all of the information for the tree to sprout and grow. The soil, water, air, and sunlight all combined to form the right conditions for that seed to begin to germinate and establish roots.

Without the soil, there would not be a place for the roots to grow or a source of minerals and nutrients for the budding tree. Without water, the land would be a barren desert where no plant could live. Without sun, the tree would not have the warmth or the solar energy to power its photosynthetic cells. Without the air there would be no warm atmosphere or a medium for the pollen and bees to perform their work in helping plants to grow. All of these are required elements for the existence of a tree.
If the elements are needed, are they actually separate from the tree? This is where we begin to examine the boundaries we place between objects. The sun is a part of the tree and cannot exist without it, just like the tree cannot live without its leaves. But we often define the leaves as part of the tree, but the sun is something entirely separate. Actually, the two are intertwined to an extent that they cannot be separated. So we can look from that perspective and see that the tree and the sun are part of the same organism.
There is a similar relationship between our physical bodies and the sun. Without the sun, we also could not survive. We need its warmth, its energy (for growing our food), its gravitational pull to keep our planet in alignment, and a whole host of other more subtle influences.
Often we think of ourselves as an individual body that is moving through the world. I am here and the tree is there. I lay on the beach and the sun shines overhead. These perspectives place boundaries around things so that we can define them. But in actuality, these boundaries are arbitrary and incorrect. As in the case of the tree, the sun is an inextricable part of the phenomena of a "tree." The two are inseparable. The sun is also inseparable from our bodies since we cannot live without the sun any more than we could live without a heart or lungs. Consider that for a moment. The sun is actually part of us.

When we look at maximizing our potential, we should look at all of the energies at play to determine if we can align to those in the most advantageous manner. Understanding the core energies that animate us then brings those things into our conscious awareness where we can make choices.
If the sun is a vital aspect of me, then how can I make full use of its available energies? What are the different channels through which the energy flows? How can I more readily and easily absorb the sun's energy to increase its animating power in my life? These are just some questions you might consider when exploring the energy available to us.
There is a free exercise that you can try which will help expand this awareness and explore the connection of the sun's energy. You can find in the Programs section Celestial Bodies - 3 Day Meditation Program. Or you could just sit quietly and contemplate the energy animating you. How can you maximize the flow in your life?
